In the past couple of years, green tea has created quite a flutter with the number of benefits that it seems to have. Copious amounts have research and tests have shown that it is one of the richest forms of antioxidants that one can incorporate in their daily diets. Storing the tea properly

While this may sound like a very simple and easy thing to do, it is not always done correctly. If anything at all, the addition of milk is simply bringing down the benefits of the cup of tea that you are about to have. Something like unsweetened soya milk would be a much better option if adding anything else to the cup of tea is a must.

Studies in the past have shown that whenever a touch of grapefruit, orange, lime or lemon is added to a cup of green tea, the catechins present in the tea tend to increase five times. The citrus rind has a compound which is known to possess anti cancer properties. This very compound works together with the catechins in tea to wipe out the free radicals which cause damage to the cells.

As with most things that are meant to be consumed, if the tea is amongst the fresher ones around, it will not only have a higher nutrition amount, it will also taste much better. It is better to leave out this combination as it would not make much sense to reduce the good that a cup of green tea does to the human body.
